Where it all started

The story of Media Jett

My name is Jett Williamson and I am the CEO of Media Jett. I am extremely humbled to have been in this business since 2015. I love what I do, and continue to learn, grow, and most importantly provide value.

Hope you are comfortable, go ahead and get something to drink, and kick back that La-Z-Boy because you are about to read the story, of Media Jett.

It all started in Holt Michigan where I grew up, I was a lacrosse player for the Holt rams in starting in 5th grade. Following in my older brother Chase's footsteps some of my prime years were on the field playing, traveling to tournaments and meeting some awesome people. We use to practice at the field right by the Holt Skatepark, seeing people having a blast over there gained my attention and I made the decision to quit lacrosse and pursue something different.

Growing up riding dirt bikes, jumping sketchy jumps (like really sketchy) I have always been an adrenaline junkie. No wonder I was drawn to the skatepark. As in the past I did ride but not as much as I could have due to lacrosse, quitting lacrosse and taking that extra step was one of the best decisions of my life, and your going to find out why!

If you made it this far congratulations you won $1,000!!! No not really, but anyways! You are probably wondering what lacrosse and the skatepark has to do with Media Jett, thats ok we are getting there. Riding BMX and scooters at the skatepark, I ended up taking it pretty seriously and spending days from sunrise to sunset all summer long just riding and having a good time. One of my buddies had a camera set up and always filmed fellow riders and for some reason it caught my attention and I thought it was sweet! He made me a edit and I was so inspired, not just from my riding, but the video work, the editing, the entire time it was being shot. it was all super intriguing. After talking with him I purchased my first camera set up. It was a Cannon handy cam, with a fisheye lens.

Starting out I would shoot videos for my friends and got more into filming and editing. I later stumbled across Devin Super Tramp on Youtube (a filmmaker who makes viral videos) and I was blown away. I took notes on his set up, and I wanted it! Looking at the Glide cam he used alone was $500! + around $5,000 for the camera. This is a important part in the story because this is when I realized, this stuff is not free. It is time to make some money. Around that time is when my mom told me about a realtor who was looking for a content creator for her real estate listings. This is when I was age 15, I saved up I bought a better camera, I bought a wide angle lens, even bought my dream stabilizer a Glide cam HD 2000. I was ready to go.

Ever since my first shoot, I have always loved what I do. You may ask yourself, "Does taking photos / videos of houses all day get boring" and to answer that, it most definitely does not! Every single house is different, and I meet awesome new people every day. Not to mention running a business is fun, it is my passion and what I love to do. I have always had an entrepreneur mindset, even since I was a kid. School wasn't for me, but being me and practicing my passion all day everyday has and always will be me.
